Jazzman

Originally when this cat showed up as a full blown feral we thought it was a female. After a few months of calling it the 'stray' I decided I would call it Jasmine.  After all, every cat deserves a name!

It took 10 years of us feeding and caring for it (my husband built a heated house on our front step)  before we could even pat it, another 2 years before it truly trusted us.   Then one day Jasmine decided it was time to become a pampered house cat.   Our indoor cats were already friendly with it, having conversations throughout the years with the screen door in between so it was an easy transition.  That is when we discovered that this cat who lived on our front step for 12 years was actually a boy and then became known as Jazzman.   Despite our best efforts to keep him safe while he lived outside, his was a hard life so we were thrilled when he chose to come inside and he had 7 more years of love, furry buddies and everything he could possibly want, which as it turns out, was not ever stepping foot outside again!

Jazzman was living proof that love can conquer anything.  To live 20+ years with all the challenges he faced, is a miracle.  We are thankful we could give him 7 years of the indoor life filled with the  love that he truly deserved.
